The goal of anarchistnews.org is to provide a non-sectarian source for news about and of concern to anarchists. It is also to provide a location for community moderated discussion about such news.
| I have noticed that many Anarchists on this website claim for attacks on the govt. or on capitalistic structures. To all of you, I say congratulations. Let them feel our force upon them, and let them know that we do not wish to be part of their System. We are free and wish to stay this way.
However you are all makin one mistake. At least it is that way from my point of view. As probably many of you know, the U.S.A. has become a control state. It is no different than the third Reich, yet it does so in secrecy without letting the world know. We do know however, and we fight it. But with the technology available to them nowadays, Big Brother has definitely put an eye on anarchistnews.org . So basically I am saying that they have keywords that go through a filter. SO once this keywords show up, they will investigate upon its source and any information that they can scavenge. They will thus know who claims the attacks on it's "precious" system. They will trace you and find you. I would bet they have arrested anarchists that have typed their masterpieces upon this site. |

| R.A.A.N. communique concerning an attack on a Lexington, KY police cruiser
The papers said that on the morning of July 31st, 2008, around 3:40AM, someone threw a molotov cocktail at a police cruiser parked on Lincoln Avenue. Dear readers, it was us. Actually there were two molotovs, and it occurred closer to 3:20AM. And to tell you the truth, it was exceptionally easy! Two 211 bottles full of gasoline and motor oil was all it took. And yes, dear readers, it was fun as hell! I'd have to say that hearing that glass smash on the pavement below the driver's door, and then witnessing the glorious burst of flame constitutes one of the most satisfying moments of my life. And less than twenty minutes later, we were safe at home smoking a victory joint before laying our sweet heads down to rest. I urge you all, dear readers, to consider our motives for this action, and (more importantly) to plan your own tactics against the oppression of the police state! You can only change history by putting yourself in it.
We are fierce and we are prepared!

| GENTRIFICATION was spray painted on a billboard on 6th ave (a Point Ruston advertisement), this act was not vandalism as some may say nor was it graffiti. It was an act done in solidarity with those being pushed out by the development of condos everywhere, by the social conditions everyone is faced with everywhere. Though this may seem small they had to pay for the propaganda they impose upon everyone and now a beautiful piece of work has covered up their shit.
What is seen brewing in Tacoma is the development of a larger metropolitan. A play ground for those in Seattle - the rich - those whom impose and function as prosthetic limbs easily replaced. Stadium district is pushing out the Hilltop community (with condos and trendy storefronts) and turning it into 'Upper Tacoma'. Renaming a place already stole by those before and now the dispossessed and undesired are left to their own rage biting their tounges. 'The community has been cleaned up they will say the gangs are gone and graffiti is disappearing...it is safer now.'
We have all heard this filth before. |

| From IndyBay
Last night, the surveillance camera behind the Salivation Army store in Bloomington, Indiana was torn down. This cheap excuse for surveillance technology was recently installed, and pointed at the wealth of couches, clothes, and various household appliances and knick-knacks that folks leave behind the Salivation Army. Next to the camera was a sign proclaiming, "Thieves will be prosecuted."
The back of Salivation Army has become an informal free store, where people leave excess goods, and people who don't have money or just want free clothes or whatever they might need can take as they please. Salivation Army's attempts to profit off of what could be part of a gift economy will not be accepted. Further attempts to surveill us and prosecute us will not be allowed. |

| During the early morning hours of August 13th, the Toronto Dominion (TD) bank on the corner of Quinpool rd. and Monastery lane was rocked by five large stones, taking out several windows. This target was not chosen for any specific reason other than a bank is a recognized symbol of capital.
In solidarity & revolt. |

An anarchist group, in an e-mail sent to various media outlets, took responsibility for a bomb attack on a high tension electrical tower on the road at Farellones, where one of the major ski centers of the Metropolitan Region is located.
The message said, "Sabotage the centers of diversion of the rich" and "prepare a subversive September".
It also mentioned Johnny Cariqueo Yañez, a youth who died March 31 from a heart-attack after he was arrested and jailed on the night of the "Day of the Young Combatant." |

| Have you been waiting for a website that reports entirely on attacks against the social order? Maybe a website that reports on acts of vandalism and sabotage engaged only in the United $tate$? Well here is a blog that strives to document the simple notion that people fight back, a lot.
With websites and blogs such as directaction.info, bombsandshields.blogspot.com, confrontation.wordpress.com and directactiongr.blogspot.com gaining such popularity, we decided to start a blog documenting stories of individual acts of rebellion here in the United States. This blog not only reports on anarchist attacks against the ruling order, but seeks to document a wide variety of resistance, including but not limited to: |

| In plain daylight in the afternoon of August 6th, we firebombed two vehicles belonging to the police. One was a sheriff van parked in front of the courthouse on Main st, located south of Powell st. The other was a police cruiser parked on the south-east corner of Main and Hastings st, it was empty because the pigs were in the middle of conducting an arrest.
That afternoon’s gossip in the downtown east side was one of sheer happiness found in the shared appreciation of seeing a sheriff van burn in front of the courthouse doors.
What bliss must have been felt by the people locked inside awaiting their trials in that despicable house of injustice. Those who live in the downtown east side struggle together daily to survive beneath the booming development which continues to exclude them to an existence of poverty and prison. |

| This year's Republican National Convention is likely to face the most aggressive, direct action, take-to-the-streets-style protest that the U.S. has seen since the WTO was shut down in 1999. It likely will be even larger than that protest and, maybe, even more effective. Relative to the WTO, more people in this country are more aware of Republican crimes and, also, living conditions (not to mention civil liberties) have deteriorated greatly since the historic protest of the World Trade Organization. The general public is riled up and in need of protest like never before.
The organizing for this protest has been unparalleled. Use of the internet has expanded greatly over the past few years as a tool for revolutionary activists. Not only are we able to be more informed about why we should protest, but we are also more informed about how we can effectively stage a revolt against the Republican fascists. We have unprecedented access to potential lodging opportunities, caravans, and logistical considerations for this protest. Tactically, we have the works of everyone from Gandhi to Sun Tzu at our fingertips (via the world wide web). More specifically, we have access to information about this particular protest readily available. This protest is going to be historic. |

A Review of Possibilities: Essays on Hierarchy, Rebellion and Desire By David Graeber
AK Press, 2007
David Graeber is one of the foremost intellectuals in the global justice movement, keeping one foot in the library and the other in the streets. While working as an anthropologist at Yale University, he was a spokesman for the Direct Action Network in New York. His latest book, Possibilities, reflects this dual role, attempting to critically reflect on the nature of the society we live in, by using the tools of anthropology and writing for an activist audience. |
